The Voice Behind the Letter
Prim has no photograph because she does not need one. She lives in your imagination, and your imagination will do a far better job with her than any camera ever could. Every reader hears her voice differently. Every reader pictures her at their table. That is not an accident. That is exactly how she was meant to arrive.
She has been at the table long enough to know what a rack looks like when someone is in trouble, long enough to recognize the Charleston bluff, long enough to understand that the most interesting player in the room is rarely the loudest one.
She started writing The Order of the Tile™ because she was tired of reading things about this game that treated it as less than it is. A hobby. A pastime. Something charming and quaint and not entirely serious.
Prim finds this insulting. The game deserves better. The players deserve better. And so every Thursday she sits down and writes the letter she wishes someone had handed her at her first table.
She has opinions about jokers, about the Charleston, about what it means to play defensively without losing your hand entirely. She has opinions about the community, about the brands worth supporting, about the tournaments worth attending.
She shares all of them. She does not soften them to make you comfortable. She assumes you are intelligent enough to disagree with her, and she respects you enough to give you something worth disagreeing with.
That is the letter. I am Prim. Welcome to the table.
Prim is a character, and the letter has never pretended otherwise. She has no photograph because she has no face. What she has are stories, and the stories are mine.
So when Prim writes about her grandfather and the rulebook and the ball behind the tree, that is my grandfather. When she writes about a woman who has played every Tuesday for forty years, that is a real woman at a real table. The families in these letters are my family. The tables are tables I have sat at. The twenty years of watching how players learn are mine, and I have the doctorate to prove I was paying attention.
They arrive as Prim's people because Prim is the one telling it, the way any story is told through the person telling it. That is a convention, not a disguise. Nothing about them is invented.
Prim says it with style. Every one of them is true.
The Person Behind Prim

PhD, Learning Technologies · Focus in game-based learning · 20+ years in the field
I have a PhD in Learning Technologies with a focus in game-based learning, and I have spent more than 20 years in the field.
I built my first game in 7th grade. I built my first computer in 9th grade with my dad. In college I kept a game room running in my dorm around the clock. When I finally got the chance to build game-based learning into my own teaching, I signed up to teach the same day.
Order of the Tile is what happens when someone who has lived and breathed game-based learning for two decades points all of it at one game worth taking seriously. Prim says it with style. I make sure it is built right.
Every Thursday. Free, always. No ceremony required to begin.
