American Mahjong Royalty

Shauna of Las Vegas Mahjong

Las Vegas Mahjong

Las Vegas, Nevada

In the city built on chance, she teaches the other thing.

Shauna runs Las Vegas Mahjong and teaches American Mah Jongg on the National Mah Jongg League card, in a city famous for the other kind of game. She is a certified Oh My Mahjong instructor, with a beginners course she calls MAHJ101 and a second, MAHJ102, for players past the basics. Group lessons are for four to eight people, and she will come to you in Henderson or Summerlin.

Her home base, which delighted Prim in a letter called Hey, Lucky Lady, is a studio inside a business called Lucky Hare on West Sahara Avenue. What Prim admired was the choice beneath the business: a hundred level and a hundred and two level is the language of someone who expects you to come back better. Her own line for it is bringing people together, one tile at a time.
