Brooke Lam began teaching in her Miami apartment, small group lessons under the name Mahj With Brooke. Gabi Boros had been building her own teaching business, My Tile Society, on the other side of town. Together they founded Mahj and Miami: lessons, social evenings, fundraisers and corporate gatherings, in restaurants, hotels, homes and anywhere a table would fit.
Prim featured them for The Mahj Hub, a roaming mahjong night that moves through Miami's restaurants and opened at Niño Gordo in Wynwood. Players come alone or as a table of four, a facilitator circulates to answer questions and check winning hands, and the evening is part game night, part social, part ritual. Prim loved the model: it meets people where they already are, at dinner, in a neighborhood they love.
