For Beginners
A Warrington parks department teaches until you are ready for the club
Warrington Township's fall American Mah Jongg program runs a taught track and a club track in the same room, and the taught track ends when a player is ready to move across.
The township lists two fall sessions at the Lindy Community Center in Lions Pride Park, 852 Easton Road. The Monday evening session runs September 28 to December 14, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. The Tuesday morning session runs September 29 to December 15, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Both are open to ages 21 and up.
Each session carries two prices. The instructor program is $70 for residents and $80 for non residents, with twelve seats listed. The club program, for players who already know the game, is $55 and $65, with sixteen seats. Play follows American Mah Jongg rules as written by the National Mah Jongg League.
The structure is the part worth noticing. The township's listing says the instructor course includes the 2026 National Mah Jongg League hands and rules book and instructional lessons until a player is ready to join the club. A beginner is not signed up for a fixed number of weeks. She is taught until she can sit down at the club table in the same building, which is a quieter promise than most beginner courses make and a harder one to keep.
