A Scottsdale club runs a sixteen week competitive league into December, and places solo players onto teams

Phoenix Mahjong Club lists a team based fall league for experienced National Mah Jongg League players, with individual entries assigned to a team before play starts.

Phoenix Mahjong Club in Scottsdale, Arizona lists a Competitive Fall League 2026. Per the club's league page, game play begins the week of 17 August and runs through December, a sixteen week season. The format is one match per week, and each weekly match includes four games played in a two hour format.

Teams are listed at 2 to 6 players, with 4 recommended. The page notes that teams of 5 to 6 players allow for substitutes and greater scheduling flexibility. Listed pricing is $395 per member team and $495 per non-member team, or $125 per member player and $150 per non-member player for individual entries.

The part worth noting for anyone without a foursome is that a solo player is not turned away. The club states that a player can register individually and will be placed onto a team before the season begins. The league is not pitched at beginners. The page says it is intended for players who already understand National Mah Jongg League rules and are comfortable with independent, faster paced gameplay.

Prospective players should confirm current availability and pricing with the club directly, since league rosters fill and the season is already under way.
