A brand new American mah jongg club sets up at the library in Harrison Township

The Michigan library's new club meets October 14 and October 28, and registration is required.

"A brand new club has arrived at HTPL," the Harrison Township Public Library in Michigan announces on its events page. The club meets Wednesday, October 14, and Wednesday, October 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the library on L'Anse Creuse Street.

Per the library, the club will focus on the American version of the game and welcomes both complete beginners and experienced players who want to help build a mah jongg community in the township. The library says it will have limited game pieces on hand and players are welcome to bring their own.

Registration is required, according to the listing. Drop ins may come to watch, but the library notes there may not be room for unregistered guests to play. The club is not run by library staff, and the page lists a volunteer contact, Linda, for questions.
