An outdoor open play afternoon sets up by the stage at Desert Ridge in Phoenix

Mahj Mind hosts three hours of American mahjong open play at Desert Ridge Marketplace on Saturday, November 7.

Mahj Mind is hosting American Mahjong Open Play on Saturday, November 7, from 12:30 to 3:30 PM at Desert Ridge Marketplace, 21001 North Tatum Boulevard in Phoenix, according to its Eventbrite listing. Doors open at 12:20 PM, and the game is played outside by the stage.

The listing says the session is for players who already know the basics, and no instruction is given. Players are asked to bring their 2026 card, their own set and a mat. It is for ages 18 and up, and solo players are welcome.

Per the listing, play follows National Mah Jongg League rules with some added house rules on etiquette. The last East rotates out so a waiting player can join. Spots are limited, and the listing asks players to reserve ahead.
