Sixty-four drills for the last third of the hand. A real rack on the front of each sheet, the answer on the back in plain words, and a box to write in. Use it with your own card. Play it digitally, on the go, with an interactive PDF, or print it out and enjoy it at the dining room table.

The 2026 Card Challenge Workbook is what we built for our own table: the people we play with wanted somewhere to practice between games, not the rules one more time. Charleston and Building was about your own rack. Reading and Defense looked up at everyone else's. Endgame and Advanced Play is the last stretch of the hand, written for the 2026 card, in four sections. Count the Wall: the wall is running low, play it out or play defensively. Which Wait: you have just drawn, and two different throws each leave you one tile from Mahjong. Concealed or Exposed: another player throws a tile that would give you a pung, call it or stay concealed. Is It Mahjong: the fourteenth tile is in front of you, declare it or look again. Every section runs from Newly Seated to At the Table to Runs the Table.

The book never tells you which line to play. You read your own NMJL card, decide, and write it down. The answer counts the tiles left in the wall and the copies still hidden, and says what the wrong choice would have cost. Every drill was checked against the real card before it was printed.

This is a digital download. No physical book ships. You will need your own NMJL card; the workbook does not include or reproduce the card and never prints its lines. The Order of the Tile is not affiliated with, licensed by, or endorsed by the National Mah Jongg League; this is an independent practice guide written with respect for the card and the people who make it. Colors vary a little by screen and printer. For personal use only. The Card Challenge Workbooks: Charleston and Building, Reading and Defense, and Endgame and Advanced Play, each refreshed when the new card comes out every spring. Read Prim's letter every Thursday at OrderoftheTile.com, and keep practicing the endgame online at OrderoftheTile.com/play.

Want all three? Charleston and Building, Reading and Defense, and Endgame and Advanced Play are together in The Complete Set, for less than buying the three on their own.
