Provider: Lake & Ivy LLC, a Texas limited liability company, doing business as Order of the Tile ("Order of the Tile," "we," "us," "our"). Contact: [email protected].
You: anyone who visits the site, creates an account, or buys anything from us.
By using Order of the Tile, creating an account, or making a purchase, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. These are the umbrella terms for all of Order of the Tile. Clubs that host tournaments also agree to the Club Tournament Hosting Terms, which add to these.
Order of the Tile is an American Mahjong experience: free games and trainers, a paid Game Pass, an online course, live multiplayer tables, community features, and tournament hosting for clubs. These terms apply to all of it. Where a specific offering has its own extra terms, such as the Club Tournament Hosting Terms or the affiliate and teacher program agreement, those add to these and control only where they clearly conflict.
Most of the site is open to browse, and many games are free to play. Some features, the Game Pass, and the course require an account.
Free games and trainers, a paid Game Pass offered monthly or annually, a paid online course, live multiplayer tables and community features, and hosted tournaments for clubs and groups. We may add, change, or retire features, and we aim to give reasonable notice of a material change to anything you have paid for.
Purchases are handled through our payment processor, Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details. Prices are shown before you commit, and where a purchase requires it, you accept these terms as part of checkout.
We may change prices at any time for future purchases and renewals, and we make no lifetime or locked-in pricing promises. A change does not affect a purchase you have already completed. If a payment fails, is reversed, or is charged back, we may suspend the related access until it is resolved.
Order of the Tile is meant to be a warm, fair table. When you use the site, please do not:
We may remove content, and we may limit, suspend, or close an account, for a breach of this section.
The site, the game engines and trainers, the course, the Prim character and voice, the Order of the Tile name and marks, the tile artwork, the card solution data, and all related software and content are and remain our property or that of our licensors. We give you a limited, personal, revocable permission to use them to enjoy the site for their intended purpose, and nothing more. American Mahjong itself, and the National Mah Jongg League card, are not ours, and we do not claim or reproduce the card.
If you post a handle, a message, a community entry, or other content, you keep what rights you have in it and grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and use it to run and promote the relevant feature. You confirm you have the right to post it and that it does not infringe anyone's rights or break the law. If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely.
The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. It depends on the internet and on outside providers, so it will sometimes be unavailable, interrupted, or slower than usual. We do not guarantee any particular level of uptime or that any game, table, event, or feature will run without technical issue, and occasional interruptions are a normal part of any online service.
We are not responsible for interruptions caused by the internet, by your own connection, device, or browser, by third-party services we rely on, or by anything else outside our reasonable control. Except where the law requires otherwise, we do not owe refunds, credits, or compensation for downtime, for a game or event that is interrupted, or for time lost to a technical issue. This section applies to everything on Order of the Tile, including tournament hosting.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated in these terms, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site or to anything you buy from us is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or, for a specific paid event or purchase, the amount you paid us for that event or purchase. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, the services we rely on, and the choices and rights you have. In short: we collect the email address and handle you sign up with, records of your gameplay, progress, and purchases, and standard analytics about how the site is used; payments are processed by Stripe; and we do not sell your personal information. Write to [email protected] with any privacy question or request.
The site relies on and may link to services we do not control, such as our payment processor, email delivery, video for live tables, and outside websites. We are not responsible for those services or sites, and your use of them may be governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
You may stop using the site at any time, and you may cancel a recurring plan as described above. We may limit, suspend, or end your access or account if these terms are broken, if we reasonably believe the law is being broken, if a payment problem is unresolved, or to protect our players, our brand, or the site. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will try to give notice. Sections that by their nature should survive, including content and intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability, and governing law, continue after your access ends.
If you arrange or run a tournament for a club, charity, league, business, or group using our platform, the Club Tournament Hosting Terms apply to that activity in addition to these umbrella terms. They cover organizer responsibilities, including entry fees and prizes, the skill-not-gambling position, the tournament cancellation and refund policy, branding and the "Powered by Order of the Tile" credit, and indemnification. Availability, downtime, disclaimers, and limitation of liability for tournaments are governed by Sections 7 and 8 above.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
We may update these terms. When we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, give notice on the site. The version in effect when you make a purchase applies to that purchase.
