Garden Grove Inn plans a Beginners Mah Jong Retreat October 30 to November 1, taught on the 2026 National Mah Jongg League card.

Garden Grove Inn in Union Pier, Michigan lists a Beginners Mah Jong Retreat for October 30 to November 1. The inn says the weekend focuses on the American version of the game, using the 2026 National Mah Jongg League card, and that each guest receives an official 2026 card.

According to the inn, the retreat is led by Lynn McDonald of South Bend, who has taught the game since 2011. The posted schedule runs an introductory class Friday evening, three class blocks on Saturday, and competitive play Sunday morning before a 1 p.m. check out.

The inn lists double occupancy pricing from $645 for a Standard Queen to $745 for a Deluxe King, with Friday dinner and weekend breakfasts included, and $100 off for single occupancy. It says space is limited.

The inn also says it intends to offer a retreat on the 2027 card for more experienced players April 9 to 11, 2027. OOTT is not affiliated with Garden Grove Inn.
